PORT ALBERNI, B.C. — RCMP say the mother and stepfather of a young man are being held in authority on first-degree murder accusations following meticulous endeavors by police on Vancouver Island to get all the proof to examiners.

Six-year-old Dontay Lucas was found dead in a home in Port Alberni in March 2018.
Sgt. Clayton Wiebe says the significant delay for charges has been baffling for the kid’s family, the local area of Port Alberni and cops who directed the “grievous” examination.
He says it required investment to accumulate reports from different organizations including the coroner’s administration along with on legal sciences, and that TV anecdotes about manslaughters have a troublesome interaction completely under control.
Wiebe says the couple, who are currently hitched, had different youngsters in their consideration and that they presently not live with them.
“This is a sad examination that impacted various individuals,” he told a news meeting, refering to everybody associated with the young man, including his cohorts.
Wiebe says he was unable to say why the couple was accused of first-degree murder, which includes plan, since that would give subtleties that should be uncovered in court.
